Hello, I’m Jamey Guy. I’ve been a lifestyle and portrait photographer for more than twenty years.

I was raised by a family of artists—painters, sculptors and illustrators—my grandfather was the first to introduce me to photography. As the creative director at Brown and Bigelow, he spent his days commissioning artists like Norman Rockwell and Gil Elvgren to create paintings for calendars. At home, he always had a brush in his hand. I would critique his paintings, he would critique my photos.

When I was 16, my grandfather and I took a road trip across the US and Canada, making pictures along the way. Those photos not only won me Best In Show at a photo contest, but a white water rafting trip as well. Photography career? Sold! But first, I took a post as a Washington State forest ranger. I loved it—except for the month I spent not speaking to another human being. Looking for some interaction, I headed to Colorado State to study wildlife biology, but left to follow the Grateful Dead (another great way to study wildlife). Eventually, the need for a proper shower overcame me, so I moved to Georgia to follow my true passions and enroll in the Art Institute of Atlanta. You can guess what I studied.

Now, years later, I’m out of the woods, clean and have a great deal of photo knowledge under my belt. My days are spent around people—hearing their stories and capturing their lives.

When I’m not taking pictures, I spend time with my lovely wife and our beautiful daughters. I like playing music, and I’m even in the Guinness Book of World Records under the largest banjo ensemble ever. I love driving gravel roads and photographing farming.

Most importantly, I’m passionate about great photography and great clients. I’ve been happy to combine the two for brands like Coca-Cola, Levis, Target, General Mills and AARP, to name a few. I’d love to add you to the list.
